I recently did a week long camping trek and while we prepared for almost everything before the start of our journey, we still missed a lot of basic things. Before you go on a camping trip, here is a list of things that you should always take with you.
- Duct Tape
You know what they say about duct tape, it can fix everything and no matter which brand you choose, you will always need to fix something. Duct tape is light weight and will fix anything so always bring duct tape, even if you think you aren't gonna need it.
Rope can literally make a difference between life and death, especially if you are going towards a rough terrain or expect to cross streams. In any case, spend some money on getting a good quality and light weight rope.
- Batteries & Flash Lights
We had two power banks and they got drained in less than four days. So if you want to capture photos or videos during your trip then don't forget to stock extra batteries. Get extra batteries for flash light too and try to bring more than one flash light per person. Head mount lights are especially useful when your hands are full.
- Rain Coat
Weather forecast of some areas isn't always accurate and there's always a chance of rain even in odd seasons. It's better to carry a raincoat just in case it rains, because getting all your clothes and equipment wet can make things worse than manageable.
- Extra Socks
If your socks get wet then you are gonna spend the entire trip in discomfort. Always bring at least two extra pairs of good quality socks.
- Med Kit
It goes without saying that a first aid kit is the most important thing in this list. Basic medicine for cold and fever, pain killers, bandages must always be with you in case of emergencies.
These are the basic things that you should never forget to take with you on camping trips. I will be adding more to this list over time and if you have any suggestions feel free to add a response below.
